PRIVACY AND TERMS & CONDITIONS
Using stampd online service (stampd.io) (collectively hereinafter referred to as “stampd”) is governed by the terms and conditions below. By using stampd you (also hereinafter referred to as “the user”) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed with these Terms and Conditions.
Please make sure that you stay informed about any changes to these Terms and Conditions. When you use stampd it is interpreted as an acceptance of any modifications to the Terms and Conditions.
Stampd respects your privacy and appreciates the relationship with you. On this basis, the following presents the privacy practices for stampd.
The documents that a user issues for blockchain stamping through stampd’s service are locally read by the user’s browser and they are not by any means uploaded to stampd’s servers. Only the documents’ SHA256 hash (constituted by an alphanumeric string from which it is impossible to produce the original document) is transmitted to our server. This means that stampd cannot and will not have any form of access to the user’s documents intended for blockchain stamping.
Stampd shall never email you, unless you have explicitly chosen to receive emails from stampd. We will also contact you by email only in the case that you have requested information or clarifications from us.
We may use information gathered about you from our site statistics via log files provided by third-party tracking partners (for example, your IP address) to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website.
Apart from the SHA256 hash which is issued and posted on the blockchain, all other information submitted from the user to stampd shall not be shared by stampd with any third party or others. The information you send to us may be stored and used to improve our site and our products, or it may be reviewed and discarded. We may also share information in the extremely unlikely case that it is required by law, in the good faith belief that such action is necessary in order to conform to the edicts of the law, or when we must comply with a legal process served on our website.
Our site may also contain links to other third-party websites. Stampd is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other websites. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy statement of any other such website you visit.
Stampd has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. We use 128-bit SSL security to encrypt any transmissions when you provide credit card information, personal data, etc. No method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If you have any questions about security on our website, you can contact us at support (at) stampd.io.
We try to be as accurate as possible when describing our service. However, to the extent that we are permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant that service descriptions, colors, information or other content available are accurate, complete, reliable, current or error free.
All trademarks, logos, service marks, text, graphics, icons and images is property of stampd. Neither these nor any part of stampd may be used, reproduced, copied, sold, resold, made accessible, modified or otherwise exploited in whole or in part, for any purpose without prior written consent from the owners of stampd.
Stampd is not liable for any direct or indirect damage that may be caused with the use of the service under any possible circumstances. The user is solely responsible for the use of the service and stampd may not be held liable for any damages suffered by the user or any other party.
Through our websites stampd.io it is likely to gain access to other websites. These websites are provided solely for your convenience, the access is achieved by solely your responsibility and stampd is not responsible for the content or accuracy of their information or for their terms & conditions.
Stampd service will post the SHA256 hash of the user?s document on the selected public blockchain. Although the blockchain is very likely to exist for a long time in the future (given the wide spread of the cryptocurrency technology), stampd cannot guarantee that it will always be accessible and stampd shall bear no responsibility if the hash information posted through its service is lost some time in the future in the unlikely scenario that the particular peer to peer decentralized cryptocurrency network seizes to exist or the cryptocurrency technology fails to continue to exist. It is emphasized that all cryptocurrency technologies, (including bitcoin, ethereum, bitcoin cash, dash, factom etc), are still considered experimental and the internet community is still exploring their potential.
It is emphasized that ownership of the contents of a user’s document which has been digitally stamped through stampd’s service may be claimed only if
(a) the contents presented in the document are indeed product of original work and not the result of stealing, copying or plagiarism.
(b) the user, at his own responsibility, has included his/her personal details within the contents of the said document.
The user is solely responsible for the documents he/she digitally stamps through stampd’s service. As the document’s hashing is performed locally at the user’s computer, stampd does have any access to them and could not be held responsible for their contents.
The user is also responsible to keep the documents in their original electronic file, as used for the derivation of the cryptographic hash transmitted to stampd. Any change to the original electronic files, however small, would lead to a different hash and therefore would render the digital stamping useless.
